How long did it take you to lose 90 pounds? I lost about 60 pounds in the first year and 30 pounds in the second year.
Did you use weight loss medication? I feel grateful that I was able to lose weight by changing my eating habits and exercising. I would never shame or judge anyone who pursues weight loss surgery or medication. I do believe that there are many benefits to exercise unrelated to weight loss, so I do support exercise for all!
Did you do Keto? Keto does not align with my overall nutrition plan. I always wanted my goals to include: eating more fruit, vegetables, and lean meat; and eating less processed food and less fat.
What do you eat? Eventually I will share specifics but the long story short is that I eat everything: Carbs, fat, protein, produce, dessert, coffee, Diet Coke, and excessive amounts of cheese. I feel confident I have achieved a well-balanced diet that is fueling and fun. My only “no” is alcohol because it does not align with my mental health goals.
Did you get a tummy tuck? Yes! I pursued a panniculectomy (removal of loose skin of my abdomen) and then upgraded to a full abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). You can read parts of my story in my post called “Plastic Surgery”.
What sort of workouts do you do? I run, take HIIT classes, lift weights, ride my bike outside, ride the Peloton, and do a little bit of Barre/Pilates style. Not a big Yogi and have not yet investigated the pickleball craze.
Are you on Instagram? No. It took me awhile to accept it but the bottom line is that Instagram is not good for my mental health.
